What we do
Our changemakers specialize in guiding diverse stakeholders to join forces in transparent partnerships across sectors, disciplines, and regions. We deliver hands-on support in translating ambitious strategies into actionable plans, aligning divergent goals into a cohesive agenda and gaining shared commitment across complex stakeholder ecosystems. Some highlights of our combined experience related to the implementation of SDG’s:
Accessible healthcare
Shaped international consortia. Developed joint programs and action plans on themes like (digital) healthcare services in Europe (cardiovascular) and West Africa (malaria), pharmacovigilance in European and sub-Saharan African countries as well as responsiveness to pandemics across India, Africa and Europe. Mobilized >50M€ to implement these programs and plans.
Designed and moderated cross-disciplinary stakeholder meetings to define vision, mission, and common denominators to coordinate action on national, European and global level. Some examples are a global roadmap for Tuberculosis vaccine R&D, a Global Health R&D agenda and project/business plans on vaccine development (a.o. Human Hookworm, Schistosomiasis, Tuberculosis, COVID).
Developed and implemented the Human Resource and Operations strategy for a public private partnership between the national government and five new hospitals for mother’s and childcare in West
Africa.
Accelerating offshore renewables
Developed and implemented the governance, business model and operational framework for an international accelerator for marine energy. Built a high performing team and mobilized funding (>130M€) by initiating an international project portfolio in collaboration with over 85 international renowned partners. Through this project portfolio over 125 technologies were supported on relevant topics such as finance- and growth strategies, environmental monitoring, innovation management, technology development, and national and international policy campaigns.
Coordinated the input from the universities, test centers and technology developers in the development of a national roadmap and acted as a trusted advisor to the Dutch government. Initiated a national community to exchange knowledge and give the growing marine energy sector critical mass and a clear voice towards policymakers at national and European level. Next to marine energy technology developers, research- and test facilities, also businesses in the offshore, maritime, and delta-tech sectors, as well as investors, and policy makers were engaged.
Provided high level representation within boards, communities and working groups to voice the interest of marine energy professionals and highlight the added value of marine energy to a carbon free energy mix. Delivered expert speakers within the theme of marine energy on national, European and international level.
Sustainable development of the Blue economy
Shaped and implemented partnerships to accelerate the concept of multi-source offshore energy farms, marine energy powered aquaculture farms, climate resilient bridges and barriers, and sustainable island communities. Supported community building and advocacy to exchange knowledge and build critical mass to drive multi-use applications within the North Sea and beyond.
Provided high level representation within boards, communities and working groups related to topics like marine spatial planning, multi-use applications and offshore business parks. Delivered Blue Invest Coaches guiding a wide variety of start-ups and scale ups in optimizing their finance and growth strategies across the blue economy.
Sustainable food systems
Advised one of Europe’s largest public-private food partnerships on the composition of the partnership as well as potential improvements of the chosen strategy and thematic focus. Optimized the underlying business case and governance- as well as the operational model towards a more (self)sustainable organization.
Supported the realization of the first Healthy Village in Kenya, a concept to improve the quality of life of rural communities by providing access to healthcare and nutrition. Healthy Villages integrates two business models which are the provision of health care through a modular healthcare facility and Nutrition through agriculture. Nextco helped to conceptualize and operationalize the strategy, develop and validate the financial model and to secure the right type of investments.
Provided high level representation within working groups related to topics like innovative business models and supply chains, sustainable farming and aquaculture.
Energizing infrastructure
Explored the feasibility of concepts such as integrating renewable power into water works and bridges to power deltas. Supported community building for electric road systems to facilitate dynamic charging of trucks.
Designed and moderated cross-disciplinary stakeholder meetings to explore the support base for these innovative concepts and potential for collaboration amongst potential users, investors and regulatory bodies.
